We had a wonderful busy holiday season singing & playing at many wonderful parties.
We are busy performing music most days of December and we love it!
Looking forward to the weddings and special events of 2017.
We took a couple selfies after we were warmed up and ready to go. We were very excited to sing and play the special request songs that they had asked us to do.
A nice surprise was the great sound system provided by the location’s Bose PA. The Bose system is the same one we use when we travel with our larger groups. It’s nice more locations are providing them now too.
Our recent outdoor patio engagement party had to move indoors when it rained. They found a lovely alcove for us to set up in for our jazz quartet (vocals, piano keyboard, upright bass, and drums). We even had time to take a few photos before guests arrived.
We can set up anywhere really, we don’t take up much space, we are flexible.😀 And we deliver volume appropriate, swingin’ classic Jazz tunes that uplift the festive vibe of a celebration.
Music was very important for the family to include into a memorial for their mother / grandmother. They chose a mix of sacred and secular music including Amazing Grace and Wind Beneath My Wings as solos.
JJ thought that the baby grand piano was a wonderfully expressive instrument to play on, and I thought it was a truly beautiful sounding piano.
I think it’s really nice that the service is broadcast throughout the facility so other residents and staff can hear it.
It was a lovely summer night to celebrate the engagement of Sahar and Michael. They were engaged in Paris and wanted to have a French and classic jazz theme for their celebration. It was fun to lend a romantic Parisian flair with our live duo music, and we were thrilled that when they asked us to continue for an extra hour.
We were inside for most of the evening but we performed outside on the patio for a romantic sunset dance – “La Vie En Rose” for Sahar and Michael, followed by “C’est Magnifique” for others to join in dancing.
Many of the guests told us they enjoyed the mix of songs and sharing the live music with their friends. It was a pleasure to help create the atmosphere they wanted. Congratulations to Sahar and Michael, we had a fantastic time – C’est Si Bon!
Often we are contracted for both ceremony reception music. JJ (pianist) and I (vocalist) provide the wedding ceremony music, and then transition right over into jazz cocktail & dinner music in an adjoining room. It really keeps the celebratory vibrations high when a live Jazz trio or quartet is playing while everyone is going through the receiving line and socializing. Having a vocalist with the jazz music (swing and fun easy listening styles) adds a touching flair of as the crowd hear the romantic lyrics serenading them.
There have been so many times that people have come over to thank me for singing a particular song, such as Wonderful World, or Unforgettable, that has a special meaning to them. Even though we are in the background of the cocktail hour & dinner we certainly know they appreciate our presence and like to see the music happening in real time by all the wonderful feedback we receive. We love bringing special music to events and being a part of an unforgettable atmosphere.
Music sets the tone and creates a vibrant atmosphere.
“A song will outlive all sermons in the memory” ~Henry Giles.
A lovely song shared with family and friends is the magic ingredient in wedding ceremonies and receptions. It creates cherished lasting memories.
I’ve found that the song God Bless The Broken Road is a wonderful wedding ceremony solo. It’s Great for second marriages too. I have also performed this at receptions for the First Dance. I love singing this one, especially with JJ playing piano for me.
We enjoyed the spot lights and the bright sun shining on us through high ceilings at the wedding ceremony of Wally and Kathy. This is a second marriage for both of them and they were blessed to have all their children and grandchildren walk in with them during the processional. There was also a very nice moment after the Unity sand ceremony song when they all gathered around the couple to bless them with their wishes for love and much happiness all of their days.
The church had a nice piano keyboard and microphone setting for us. The 2 vocal songs they selected were The Prayer for after the readings, and for the Unity- The Apache Wedding Blessing song.

Congratulations to Wally and Kathy! We feel blessed to have been a part of your ceremony.
When it comes to holiday party music, we have plenty of songs to choose from. We always fit the event when choosing what holiday music to perform. There are so many celebratory songs, from winter themed like Let It Snow to more religious Joy to the World
